Padparadscha is a type of orange-pink sapphire mined from Sri Lanka, Africa, and Vietnam. The name means "lotus blossom" in Sinhalese.
Delicious candy color + sapphire + awesome Lotus-related name = VERY YES.
I found out about this particular gem from doing generic wiki searches for various gemstones, to get jewelry ideas. I really only like yellow/gold/orange/scarlet in terms of gemstones (hello citrine, topaz, and amber), and this appeals wholly to that.
