It's after midnight, and my brain just won't shut up. So I did a thing ....
Are you a very open or private person?
Private, especially at work. Several years ago, one of my Starbucks employees honest-to-god thought I was so guarded at work that I must have a secret, crazy life that I wouldn't talk about. Nope, sir, just the couch, the cats, and Netflix.
What do you get complimented on the most?
My eyes. Not as much lately because I'm wearing my glasses much more often. Or my consistency at work.
What perfume do you wear?
None.
Who are the most important people in you life?
My family and friends, duh. The people I need the most consistent contact with to keep me sane are my parents, my sister, and my friend Carlos.

Thirty-one. It amazes me how old and young that sounds simultaneously.
What is your nationality?
I am fifteen-sixteenths Caucasian (general European mutt) and one-sixteenth Cherokee.
Have you changed at all in the past year? How?
Of course. I would say that I've learned about how depression affects me and what some of its red flags are, as well as how the birth of a nephew can cause my heart to birth love I didn't know possible.
Where were you born? Where do you live now?
Born in northern California, currently reside in New York City.

Most dramatically, the end of my relationship six years ago. I know, it feels like a dream to me too.

Yes.

I'm friends on Facebook with my first boyfriend and his wife (joint profile).

Something by Ataris, I forget the song title.
Any tattoos?
No, but tonight I started seriously considering a New York State tattoo as I prepare to move back to the West Coast in the next year or two.
Tea or coffee?
Coffee every morning (triple soy latte because the brewed coffee at my local place tastes like paper, but they're so much nicer and faster than Starbucks). Tea when I feel like it (mint or cinnamon).
Who did you last talk to on the phone for longer than 10 minutes?
My grandma. Today is the first day I've had a voice since the weekend so I called to see how she's been doing since she got home from the hospital (again) on Monday (she said she's pretty okay and got to sit outside in the sunshine for a little bit today and loved it). No biopsy yet.

Yes.
When was the last time you cried really hard?
I don't remember. Wait, I do -- when my dad called over the weekend to tell me about Grandma needing a biopsy for lumps in her lymph nodes. All three of my grandparents are still alive, and I know that makes me very spoiled, but I feel sick at the thought of losing any of them.
Closest green object to you?
A box of nasal spray. Sexy.
Do you find piercings and tattoos attractive?
Both depend on the person, but generally yes-ish. Face piercings other than nose are a no go.

Fastidiously. It freaks people out sometimes because I think it makes me direct communication style feel intensely direct.
Where is your phone?
By my feet.
Are you more of a night or morning person?
I adapt to my schedule (and always have), but now I'm more of a night person. I prefer to work around 10a because I can stay in bed until 8-830a, get ready, and get coffee before work then do errands/work out afterward.

Would you rather go to Tokyo or Paris?
Paris.
Last time you had a nice bubble bath?
No idea. I'm not big on baths. The water gets cold, and it's easier to wash in a shower.
Do you like silver or gold better?
Silver.
What was last thing you drank?
Water.
What are you doing tonight?
It's now 1a so what did I do tonight? Worked until 7p, picked up groceries, came home and cooked dinner, called my mom/aunt/grandma (only talked to Grandma), read stuff online, watched an episode of The West Wing (on season four now, second time through the series, remember when it took over my life last year?), went to bed. Tossed and turned and tossed and finally just got up and poked around online, tried to write, couldn't so decided to be eighteen again and fill out a survey.
Will tomorrow be better than today?
Well, work will probably be busier so hopefully it will go as smoothly as today. But tomorrow is Friday so it will be the best at 6p!
Do you still talk to your friends from elementary school?
I connect with a couple of Facebook now and again.
How many times have you dyed your hair?
Lots. It needs to be dyed again because girlfriend's roots are not the business right now, but I'm between stylists and can't decide if I want to straighten it again or give my hair a break. Which reminds me to call a salon tomorrow that I walked by last week.
What time did you wake up this morning?

I speak appropriate things at appropriate times with measured phrasing.
Do you curse in front of your parents?
Rarely. I still feel like I will get in trouble!

It would have to be Carlos' couch. Yes, mid-February when some friends from California came to visit, we went out drinking and dancing and took a cab back to Carlos' place so I slept there instead of going home.
Was it sunny today?
It looked nice outside, but it was cold and windy.
Would you ever consider dyeing all of your hair blue?
YES. This would be my default hair color if I didn't work in a corporate environment.
Are you wearing jewelry right now?
No. I take off my earrings for sleeping so they don't dig into my head, and I accidentally broke my necklace chain at work today.
115a and I'm tired-but-wide-awake. More West Wing it is. This was entertaining, at least for me. Goodnight.
