Spring Break #day 8: Pizza and Pillow cases...

Feb 24, 2013 00:15

Went to the Fabric Market in Utrecht again today. As I mentioned earlier, I didn´t buy enough ball ribbon to finish my pillow case and I have a few new craft projects brewing I needed materials for.
So strange - last week when I went I was literally tripping over ´cupcake fabric´. I wanted to get some to make a cupcake garland for my kitchen, but I couldn´t find *any* today. Admittedly, my favourite booth was empty and he always has lots of patterned fabrics. So I´ll get that in a few weeks.
I did manage to get the other items I went for, so tonight I finally finished the pillow case I´ve been working on.

For this pillow case I used left-over fabrics. A few years ago I was involved in a puppet theater project, featuring a sheep. Because of that, I still had a lot of ´sheep skin fabric´ lying around and I decided to use it now. I sewed ´sheep skin´ hearts on the different squares and the back of the pillow case is entirely made out of it.
After finishing it this evening I put it on the couch and about five minutes later this had happened:

The pillow is lying upside down - note that I´ve literally spend hours putting together the front - and Minoes is happily snuggled on its soft and fluffy back.
*sigh*

Now for the pizza part of this post:
I love making my own pizza´s. I get a, what´s called a Turkish bread from the Turkish bakery in Utrecht and slice it open. Then I top it with tomato sauce and various ingredients: zucchini, ham, various kinds of cheese, mushrooms, salami etc. But when I´m eating alone, obviously a whole Turkish bread is far too much for me. So this evening I tried the same recipe on a crusty bun. Works perfectly.

This one has tomato sauce, zucchini, ham, sliced tomato and cheese on it, spiced with basil and oregano.

Bon appetite!!
