Wow, it's been a while. I've been working a lot, which isn't anything new, but I feel like I'm finally starting to go somewhere so I don't want to lose the momentum. I got that promotion I had been wanting forever back in February, and it gave me a much needed boost. So did the round of steroids back in January, so I've been able to exercise on a more regular basis. I'm not Arthrito-girl, the rheumatologically challenged superhero, anymore! Mark will have to come up with a new name to tease me with.
We've been enjoying our first summer in the new house with a fully landscaped yard. Mark insisted on doing everything himself (except for the sprinkler system and sod) so last summer was spent building retaining walls, installing edging, planting stuff, laying rocks, etc. I forgot what he looked like without sweat dripping down his face for a while. But we're fully enjoying it now and it's really rewarding to think we did it ourselves. Well, I did the designing and Mark did all the real work with his dad and brother. I would have hired it out in a heartbeat, but macho-man insisted on doing it himself.
Our one-year anniversary is next month. Crazy how time flies! And now all of my close girl friends are all officially married. And thank goodness, because I am completely wedding-ed out.
Body Worlds is here in Minneapolis, and I actually really want to go. The idea is a little disgusting to me, but it's also really cool. I've always been a little squeamish but I think I could get over it to enjoy the exhibit. I've become much more into anatomy and physiology since the whole rheumatoid arthritis thing started, and now even more so that I'm seriously working out again. I hope we can catch it before it's gone.
I can't go for so long without writing here, because then it takes forever just to get caught up and then I don't have time or energy for the fun stuff! Maybe I can make it a new half-year resolution.
