Thanks for the 'LJ nudges', April and Kevin :)
I've been so tired lately that I finally just decided to take a personal day to rest and get some stuff done. I let myself sleep in until 8:30, though I think I could have slept for another month at least. I can't stand napping during the day, but I might give it a whirl later on; it feels like I have a ton of sleep to catch up on after these last few years.
Mark and I went to a Minnesota Swarm game with some friends a few weeks ago - that's our pro Lacrosse team. Oddly enough, few, if any, of the players are actually from Minnesota. I think they're all from the East coast and Canada, eh. But they have quite the following, especially with the ladies (someo of them are called Lacrossetitutes, I've been told). It's cool that it's not totally commercial, though, because after the games they announce which bar the post-game party will be at, and you can hang out with the guys and the Bud Lite Performance Girls (the official dance team).
It was the first game I had been to, so it seemed really weird to watch the guys running, instead of skating - I'm so used to ice hockey. Even though I grew up playing field hockey, I love the speed and agility the pro hockey players display on the ice. I quickly got over it and became a fan, however, and I think we're going to another game soon.
Mark is going back to school for his MBA, which he's been thinking about doing for a few years now. He finally decided a few months ago that this semester would be the one, but the madness of our holiday schedules sort of got in the way. He got his letters of recommendation, filled out the necessary paperwork, and all of that, but he didn't look into the gmat requirements. He thought it wasn't required until he had 2 credits under his belt. And that's how it used to be, but it just changed - passing the gmat is now a requirement to even register...and he found this out a week before the last test was to be given!
I knew he had nothing to worry about, he's an intelligent guy and beyond learning the types of questions and how the test works, there's not much "studying" you can really do. He wasn't too worried, but I know he wasn't thrilled, either. Because it's all computerized, he got his results immediately - he scored in the 97th percentile! And we just found out that he was awarded the Dean's scholarship, thanks to his gmat score and his entrance essays. I am so proud of him!
I better wrap this up, I need to run to the grocery store to pick up some stuff for girl's night tonight. But I better grab a bite first, because that is the worst idea ever to shop on an empty stomach.
