We kicked ass at Alamo Square!

Wow, what a week - very action packed. As some of you guys already know, Kristen and I had a friend staying with us at the Pleasure Paradise™ (aka the appartment) for a few days - I'll call him R so those of you who read Kristen's journal won't get confused (I'm nice like that ;). R was in town working on a huge project, a project that I really can't say too much about here - definitely not in an unlocked entry - because i swore on my first born son that I wouldn't share it with the general public... yet. I'll just say that the project involved going to San Francisco multiple times and interviewing a lot of cool people. We also did some sight seeing around SF, Peir 39 etc., since R hadn't been there since he was 4 or something. Highlights of the week include:

Highlight 1: The Full House House (mis)Adventure. At one point between interviews, R got absolutely *obsessed* with finding the house from the TV show Full House. K and I were game to find it, since we all grew up watching the show, and the same line of victorian houses were also used in So I Married an Axe Murderer, which is one of my all time fave movies. All we knew was that it was somewhere in front of a huge park, which really isn't much when you take into account how big San Fran is. We were *convinced* it was somewhere near Golden Gate park (which is huge in itself, taking up at least 10 blocks), so we drove around and around that area for at least an hour, and came up with nothing.

That's when it became an obession, we *had* to find that house! Out of frustration and desparation, R busted out his laptop in the backseat, and tried to find a wireless connection he could jump on, to google the location. Obviously, since the car was moving this proved impossible. And there were cars parked on the side walk, so we couldn't exactly pull over.

So then we got the bright idea to just stop in the middle of the street and turn on the emergency blinkers, so that he could find a stable wi-fi network. For the record, Kristen was against this plan, but did it purely because of peer pressure. :P Now, if you can just imagine us in a little car, stopped dead in the road with the emergency blinkers on, and R in the backseat with his laptop on one knee, a detailed map of San Francisco on the other, and a cell phone on his ear, punching away like a mad man. And Kristen desparately trying to slide down in the seat so that she couldn't be seen by the angry & honking passersby. HILLARITY. (All the while we were humming the Full House theme)

Unfortunately, we had to go because the little detour made us *cough* very late for the final interview of the day. As we drove off, I phoned my mom (who lived in SF before I was born) and she pretty much confirmed that the Full House House wasn't near Golden Gate park at all, but more toward the market district - and with that tip off R put two & two together on the map and figured out it was actually at Alamo Park, in the middle of town. We vowed to hit it on the way back, and we did! Only it was a mad rush to make it before sunset!

The money shot!

Highlight 2: Visiting Pixar. Again. Sunday we went to IKEA for appartment stuff and of course any trip to IKEA involves going to Pixar, which is conveniently located *right* behind the furnature mega store. This time I brought my Mr Incredible doll (known to many of you as Little i). Snapped a few pics of of Little i scaling the gate, and then asked the securty guard on duty if he would mind posing with my doll. He laughed and said okay. What a guy! Actually, I developed a nice rapport with the secruity guard and I'm kicking myself now that I didn't even *ask* if he would let us inside! *headdesk* And then on the way back to the highway, we got lost and ended up in the ghetto of Emeryville!

Notice the Pixar logo on the man's shirt.... Hehehe. We tight now.

That's me in front of the main entrance... it was windy as all shizznit.

Highlight 3: The Interviews Themselves. All the interviews were awesome, and really interesting. I had a blast. We even gave one of the interview subjects a ride to the press screening of Deuce Bigalow European Gigalo! LOL! The only lowlight was when I used the bathroom at a certain nameless interviewee's home and the toilet clogged and overflowed. Yeah, *that* wasn't embarassing or anything... *grumble*

In other news, my hair is driving me up the flippin' wall. Thinking about whacking it off into a bob again. Or perhaps I'll go GI Jane and just shave it all off - it would accentuate my nice, round head and save me a lot of trouble in the mornings. What do you all think, should it cut it?? (I foresee all the guys saying, "NO DON'T CUT IT!" and all the girls saying, "Go for it, whack it off!" Mark it. ;)

little i, san francisco, clogging toilets, geekfest
