I'm having a depressing evening, drinking beer, alone.. in my flat .. all my plans fell through, no-one would answer their phone and by the time people did answer their phone i was so pissed off an upset that I couldn't see the point of even trying to go out anymore

Very dramatic.

Channel 5 got it mainly because the guys that own the rights to Neighbours are owned by the same guys that own Channel 5 - RTL.

Indeed i knew that 5 got it for those reasons, but also because the BBC refused to pay the huge amounts of money that the other channels were offering.
