Where did February go?

I can't believe it's already the last week of February!!  Progress on the re-building of the bathroom and laundry has been slow but steady. Quite a few problems, not the least of which is that the new loo has been installed askew!! The site manager has been sent to Queensland on another job, so has handed over to another builder from the same Insurance company appointed builder, so he will "deal" with the plumber. Ideally the loo should be moved straight on, but not sure if it can be done now the holes have been drilled through the new tiles and all. There's also been problems with new taps not fitting on old plumbing fixtures, a bespoke laundry sink which was late arriving, windows incorrectly ordered, wonky vanity unit etc. and of course the disruption to usual family life with furniture piled in the centre of rooms.  Have finally been told that the sewing room will need to be ready for window replacement on Monday, so guess what I'm finishing over the weekend??  Final sort and packing up the sewing room stash / table / machines / sound system/ television / current projects.  They hope to be finished, including painting woodwork, in 2 days. I have my doubts however, the M. "family curse" seems to kick in when we least expect it. Usually it's dodgy electrical goods or broken furniture that we seem to buy needing return and replacing. Fingers and toes crossed for smoother sailing from here on.

On the family front, my DIL has just posted on Facebook that my grandson has said Mum for the first time, so cute!! Also little granddaughter has gained a full kg in weight and although she isn't sleeping at night yet and feeding every 1 1 /2 to 2 hours most nights, Mummy and Daddy are managing with a little help from family and friends. I've even been visiting during the week and helping a little, at great expense since it's been too hot  and /or wet for public transport so I've had to phone a taxi to get there!!

And I'm an aunty again, my brother #2 has just had a baby daughter with his fiancee, his second round family since his other kids are 23, 20 and 17 years old. He's quite besotted with baby Jorja who is still in special care as she was under 5lb and an IVF baby ,extra precious. Her mummy had a brain tumour several years ago and didn't think she could conceive, and B#2 had a vasectomy after completing his family (or so he thought) with his ex- wife.  Just goes to show Life can take some unexpected twists and turns doesn't it?

Looking forward very much to getting the house back together and in full working order, even the sewing room as a few projects are coming up that need attention quite soon. DH has suggested we take a week off to recover after all the chaos, must say I think that would be a fabulous idea !!!!
