still "waiting"

Sorry to leave like that...i am so not trying to come off as some kind of saint or something...but what i am saying is that serving people food gave me access to many folk's more personal sides...hunger is vulnerability...i was like the eagle head that animal rescue agencies use to feed the lost eaglets so they don't imprint on the humans...

if someone was having a great moment, i could make it better. if they were sad or ill i could show them "the kindness of strangers". if they were simply hungry i could feed them.

now having said that i also have had some of my most hateful moments as a waitress! the couple that made me run back and forth so many times that the cook came out and threw them out of the restaurant...because i was 8.75 months pregnant! the lady the other evening with the mean beady little eyes that no matter what i did was going to stiff me! the myriads of hand clapping finger snapping  arab and persian folks. and don't ever tell me that Persians and Arabs are the same! Persians TIP BIG! Arabs cheap or no tip...yea, yea cultural differences...whatever.

but my main point is i have no education to speak of, so when i go in to the interview for a social services position i use my waitress history to explain my heaps of knowledge involving human nature and psychology! I am also culturally competant having worked for and with as many nationalities as the Statue of Liberty. I have excellent de-esculation skills as i have talked many angry hungry (perhaps drunk) folks down from their snipers ledge.

mile for mile that i have walked has given me more than just sore feet and mountains of tips,
