No, seriously, I just read a post from someone carrying on about how hawt they find Chris Argent (yes, as in Allison Argent's dad) which was appended to a gif set of him putting on a thigh-holster and then subsequently putting one of his many guns into said holster.
This wouldn't be much of an issue at all, if it weren't for the fact that my disagreement with their opinion rested solely on the fact that I think most of the Argent firearms are ugly.
No, I'm not kidding. This thought actually went through my head: "Nnngh, no, come on... His guns are soooo ugly, I mean Dean's got that 1911 with the pretty etching and the Colt's a classic and--Wait, WTF?"
(But honestly, I do find most of/all of the Argent firearms to be ugly. It's the handguns with the weird triangular barrels, really -- they're just... Bleh. I don't actually like the Argents -- not even Allison, really, even though I'm mostly supposed to see her as one of the "good guys" -- and that doesn't help. I think Chris is actually the only one in the family for whom I have any sympathy whatsoever, and that basically stems from the fact that he's pretty much the only one who's interested in actually following the damn Argent family code.)
(I have a weird relationship with Teen Wolf, now that I think of it. I love Stiles because he is so dyslexic and so capable; I'd like to love Lydia (because I loved it when they blindsided me with her brilliance), but I have issues with her relationship with Jackson; Jackson annoys me because he has such potential and pretty much all he does is burn it up being an asshole; I don't like Scott or Allison all that much for various reasons not the least of which is their relationship...
As for The New Hale Pack, I like the idea that Derek has, to take kids whose families have failed them and forge them into a new family -- that's a powerful idea, and one that could have gone great places. I don't know if it's the writing or if it's me that keeps me from really liking The New Erica and The New Isaac.
Why did their personalities essentially do a 180? Scott's didn't. Is that because Peter bit him and Derek bit Erica/Isaac/Boyd and there's a fundamental difference between the bite of a fully adult/experienced alpha and a young/immature alpha? Or is it just bad writing that made a pair of shy, scared kids into a bitchy sexpot and a giant dick? Or were Erica and Isaac intended to be jerks from the beginning and, had their respective lives not beaten them down, the bite merely reveals them as they would have been in any other universe?
And Peter. Oh my GOD, PETER. Fucking creepy-ass bastard should be in fucking jail. *Shudder* I mean, the scene where he accosts Allison while she and Lydia are out shopping for their prom/homecoming dresses? He crossed so many fucking lines. There's the murder and the playing at being unresponsive and the rest of it, but that scene--I saw it once, and it's stuck in my head, it so unnerved and bothered me. (That episode should come with a fucking trigger warning, that's how creepy it is.)
So no, I don't think Peter is funny or sassy or awesome. I have an entirely different head canon for him.
My heart aches for Sheriff Stilinski, doing his best between his grief and his job and his helpful-like-a-cat son. (I'm really glad that he and Stiles have a pretty good relationship, though.)
Michelle McCall is doing her best, too, and I do have a fair amount of respect for her.
Half the time I like Dr. Deaton, half the time I sort of think he's creepy (but not Peter Hale-creepy).
I've only seen the series once all the way through, and I can't decide if I want to find some meta to read and/or rewatch it. I've got a lot of other stuff I'm doing/want to rewatch (like Eyeshield 21 and Naruto Shippuden), so...maybe not right now.)
(See? I told you my life was weird.)
