I watched Sybil the other day. I have to say, that is one of my all time favorite movies. It's right up there with White Christmas (my number 1,) and Mary Poppins (my number 2), and those of you that know me well know how much I love those movies. For all of you out there who have never had the patience to sit through this four and a half hour made for TV movie, here's a brief overview:
Sybil Dorset (played by Sally Field) is a very troubled young woman. Her mother was a paranoid schizophrenic who used to do things to Sybil like tie her to the leg of the piano and not let her go to the bathroom until her mother was finished playing, or tie her wrists up and put her in the grain bin in the loft of the barn, or tie her flat to the table and hoist her legs up so that they were spread apart, and put things inside her like button hooks and rubber tubes. As a result of this torture, Sybil developed multiple personalities. The whole movie is basically about bringing these repressed memories to the surface with the help of her psychiatrist (Joanne Woodward) to get rid of her other selves. It is so good. Like I said, one of my favs. It is also a true story.
My brothers went to see Fantastic Four tonight. (FLAME ON!!!) That is one movie I have no interest in seeing. Last night, they saw Willy Wonka. Another movie I have no interest in seeing. I'm actually really scared of that movie. I don't like the oompa-loompas. They used to give me nightmares. I really have nothing of interest left to say, so I'm gonna go do something else. Peace.
