Contrary to popular belief, the internet is public.

It always greatly amuses me when people, in a huff, delete their journals or make them private after finding out that a brother/sister/mother/father/aunt/uncle/friend has found their account and read something that they didn't like. It's sort of like, hello??? Is this not a public account that is findable not only through your AIM screen name but ( Read more... )

It's so funny when that happens. The funniest thing is, when it happens to me, I am always completely surprised even though I'm 90% sure I knew that the people being discussed would read my journal anyway. The ONLY time I think I was legitimately mortified was when my ex copied-and-pasted material from a friends-only entry and e-mailed it to my coworkers.

Either way, nothing I can think of that you've written in, yes, the last FIVE years has been so terribly offensive that you couldn't make it public knowledge. I wouldn't call anything you've written 'defamation of character.' Of course, to each their own. I'm just glad you didn't delete your journal.

Of course... I have done this a few times. And I am a fan of deleting my own posts, but only because I was ashamed of my behavior and calmed down enough to realize there are some things that need not be said on the oh-so-public forum that is Livejournal.

Also: GRINDHOUSE. That will be my Easter Sunday, thanks. And yes, I cannot wait to see the Thanksgiving pseudo-trailer on the big screen. Trampoline girl? Yes please.

Yeah. Emailing it to your co-workers? On the list of extremely lame and worthy of mortification. What I wrote doesn't need to be privated because of "defamation", more because I mention trouble he and Shaun got into that people he work with can't find out about. (As if that would even happen anyway, but whatever.)

I mean, I do the whole get-really-pissed-off-and-make-melodramatic-posts thing too, but that wasn't the case here. I was LEGITIMATELY pissed off and mentioned an event that affected my life, as well. Whatever.

BUT YES!!!! TRAMPOLINE GIRL!!!!!!! And, also:

"It's blood."
"... Son of a bitch!"

I'm psyched.
