apparently, not much will get me to come out of hiding and post. but could you really expect me to stay silent now?
THE DUCKS WIN THE CUP !!!
I am proud to say that I have been a fan of this team ever since they began (when I lived and worked just a few miles away from The Pond). I've had to endure a ton of Ducks bashing, still even up until tonight. And while I'd like to serve up a nice big slice of STFU to all the Ducks bashers, I will let it slide tonight. For nothing can take away the joy I am feeling right now for my team. MY team.
And the icing on the cake was Chris watching it with me. He's not into hockey, but he knows how much the game, and tonight, means to me.
And yes, I am sad that I cannot be there in California. To collect the papers and memorabilia from the win. To go to the parade (I'm REALLY bummed about that). But getting to watch my team hoist the cup... I'll treasure this moment.
