It appears that nearly everyone I love and admire is involved in hockey fandom at least a little bit and SIGH. I almost (but not really) wish my interest in figure skating RPF hadn't yielded a real interest in actual figure skating because now I feel like that dog in the Simpsons. I understand "how boys on ice" just like Santa's Little Helper know his names, but everything else is completely unintelligible.
FANDOMS. I keep seeing the most ridiculous sweeping generalizations. One person saying that it's obvious that a character bottoms and that this is the morally right choice, another person saying that rabid shipping is ruining her ability to enjoy pictures because she just knows that somewhere, someone is having too much of a reaction to the same picture.
And I read these things and just go, "Really?" I can't even get it up to point out the lameness of their pronouncements.
PS- Fandom on tumblr is mostly weird and largely not worth trying too hard about. BUT INDEED. Fingers crossed something better is on the way. And if you find it, TAKE ME WITH YOU.
PPS- Ugh, they have perfect size differentials for kink and all of the willingness to climb each other like trees and Brian just needs someone to love, okay? And Florent is RIDICULOUS AROUND HIM. RIDICULOUS.

I love that figure skating RPF got you into figure skating so hardcore. I'm continually impressed that you learned to skate, and you can jump and spin and DO THINGS. It's awesome. But if you ever want to dip your toe in hockey let me know cause you really don't have to know ANYTHING about hockey to read most of the fic. I had seen maybe half of three hockey games in my life, and I had no idea who any of the people in the fics were, when I started reading in the fandom. I would google image search the guys after I read the fics and be like... Oh, okay then, this person had a lot more teeth in my head. (HAHAHAHA.) But anyway, yeah. I can rec you age differential fics or teammate fics or rivals fics or high school AUs or summer camp AUs or hooker fics or soulbonding or truth serums or even one step-brother AU. So if you ever want to check it out just let me know, and I'll hook you up with some links!
LOL. Fandom. Always being selectively intractable about the most random things! Always taking other people's happiness as a personal insult SOMEHOW!
P.P.S. Do you see their dynamic as a thing where they're both equally smitten, or do you think Florent is in love with Brian already but it will take a lot of climbing on him before Brian realizes he wants to keep him, or is Brian the one pining while Florent is cheerfully slutty with his hugs, or how do they work? TELL ME MORE ABOUT THEIR ADORABLENESS!
P.P.P.S. I'm doing pretty well! I'm moving this summer so I have like a month left before I enter packing hell, but it's going to be a good change I think.
