Five Fun Stéphane Facts
I was looking through French interviews with Stéphane again and discovered a couple things I never realized.
1. Stéphane's sponsorships are HUGE. He's sponsored by Ford, Hublot (a watch company that makes watches that retail for $3,000 - $35,000), and the major provider of telecommunications in Switzerland. Those are like football or basketball style endorsements. Like Manu Ginobili has a Time Warner sponsorship. Tiger Woods has a price-y watch sponsor. I knew Stéphane had a sweeter time of things than Johnny, but I didn't realize by how much. Like I was telling Kate, I sort of figured Switzerland was like, "Aw, yeah, figure skating, sweet." But apparently they're a lot more "HOLY FUCK FIGURE SKATING."
2. I swear I think that Stéphane's entire family looks exactly alike. His uncle looks like a pudgier, derp-ier version of him. Also, his uncle is a mechanic. Stéphane's father is a builder. And yet they love their little dancing Stéphane to bits. Perhaps because of those million dollar endorsements.
3. Stéphane's parents are divorced. This means that Sexy Papa Lambiel (as seen below) could well be single. His dad is apparently a bit of a loner. And his name is Jacques. C'mon. How perfect is that? Papa Lambiel. Call me.
4. Stéphane seems to deeply identify with his Latin/Portuguese descent. He blames it and celebrates it as the source of his moodiness. He spends summers in Portugal enjoying the beaches and "being who as he truly is." a) I feel that this is not explored enough in fics. Or maybe just my fics. b) why are there no pictures?
