This amuses me greatly
So, I hang out on the IMDB Supernatural board a lot. Aside from the occasional troll, it's actually one of the better IMDB boards to be on... Anyway, to pass the time, we end up having Elimination Games going on pretty much all the time.
One that cropped up a while ago, after a long debate on Dean's sexuality was "Who's the best love interest for Dean?"... Given the general "Ew, slash, Dean is straight" reaction to the debate, the original list for the game was made up entirely of women from the show (even Meg and Ruby were on it...)
Everyone was started out with 10 points, and for a while, the list stayed that way, while the ladies were voted up and down... Until someone (I think it was teddybeardoctor ...for which you're awesome, Jamie) added Cas to the list.
He started out with just the 10 points, while others- mostly Jo, Jamie, and Lisa- were already building up a good number of points in their favor. Cas was left on the list, despite a few "WTF why is Cas there?" responses, because everyone assumed he would be voted off within a few posts. Considering the reaction mentions of Dean/Cas had gotten in previous threads, I expected him to be voted off pretty quick too, since there seemed to be more Wincesters hanging about than Dean/Cas shippers (seriously, guys, we need a name XD)...
He wasn't. And this is what the list looks like now:

Lurking Dean/Cas shippers, unite! =P (actually, a couple of the board Wincesters are actually voting for Cas, too. And most of the het shippers have given up, and are now contending for second place, rather than first... there are still just a few that are "ew slash, why is Cas on here, get him off")
Why does this amuse me so? Mostly we've got Cas up over a 100 points more than any of the remaining 3 ladies... AND no one reckoned he would stick around that long. He got to stay on the list because it was all just "oh well, he'll be eliminated in a few days and we can go about our business"... and the Dean/Cas shippers sorta came out of nowhere, and just took over. (I think the game brought out a few that were afraid to mention shipping preferences, because ever since Cas started winning, there's been D/C threads popping up fairly regularly.)
Though to be honest, I'm surprised none of the Wincesters tried to get away with adding Sam to the list... Thankful, since that would have started a ship war, I think, but still surprised.
