so i have 7 of my moms cousins (my "tias") staying at the house for a while. i love the way a mexican family is. i have so many relatives, my mom has like 40 first cousins and all those cousins have like 5 kids each. Its huge, i feel so protected, like im a member of a huge unit. Im not sure if they like me though, i started to speak spanish, and when they heard my accent, i could
have sworn i saw a tear roll down my tia's cheek, a tear of shame for the waste of a good mexican girl whose been americanized. For those of you that have seen "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", and laughed about the constant cooking, its 100% true. For example heres a rough compilation of every conversation ive had with my auntie's this week

aunts: Jacqueline, quieres comida (want something to eat?)
Me: Ay! No, gracias. Como despues de despertaro (No thanks, i ate right after i woke up)
aunts: get a look of shame on their face, and keep cooking furiously.

my aunts are so cute, if you eat something that they haven't cooked, they think that they've failed to serve you as a good house guest. When the pizza guy came, they looked like i had just slapped them in the face. I love my huge crazy outrageously Catholic family though. I admire the way that they put every aspect of their lives in to Gods hands.

so i really need to keep doing my school work. its getting realllly hard to keep disiplined (<---spelled wrong, i know) at the end of the year, i think i have sophomore-itis. Or maybe im just getting lazy...yeah thats probably it. This summer should be fun. Im going to Europe at the end of June. Im spending 4 days in england, and then jetting over to Roma, where i get to meet the man, el hombre con los manos de piedra, the boss, the big guy, el jefe de la inglesia catolica.. The Pope. man im so effing excited. Benidict XVI so hardcore.

Well, the aunts are calling me,..and yippy, i think they made some tamales especially for me...\

<3jackie.

ps- keep may 6or 7 open, im having a partayyyy..
