i had a great xmas all things considered (like the divorcing parents and the weather). my mom refurbished her very first sewing machine for me. it's metal (so i cant break it thank GOD) and vintage. suh-weet. scarves and earrings and music, oh my! the lonely planet "one planet" book of travel photography that chris lee turned me on to!
got a message from the wifey on xmas eve sobbing cause she didn't get in to her first choice grad school (she's an opera singer). that one hit a little too close to home. when i called her yesterday she seemed much better off, trooper that she is. talked to my other musical friend, manhattan paul, after a long day of texting anchorman quotes back and forth (why is that movie the funniest thing ever created?) while watching sex and the city (dad and i gave mom the WHOLE SERIES on dvd!) and knitting a new scarf (not like i need one after mom got me alll the ones i'll ever need).
was surprised by several texts from the one person i NEVAH expected to hear from on christmas of all days, who in fact i was trying verrrry hard to NOT think about. i was equal parts thrilled and freaked out. WHY AM I SO GODDAMN BAD AT BOYS???
