Oh, the stupid decisions I make...

Okay, so like every night this week I have repeatedly decided it would be fun to watch an episode or two of the X-Files before going to bed. Now, don't get me wrong, it's an utterly fabulous show, but really, before bed? Needless to say I've caused myself to feel extremely juvenile by needing my closet door closed and some lights on to sleep. Apparently I just don't learn. I'll probably do the same thing tomorrow. Le sigh.

Oh well, at least my class tomorrow isn't until 1pm. Oh, the joy of spending two hours looking at rocks. I mean, in abstract, paleontology is interesting, but spending two hours analyzing fossils that we haven't yet learned enough about to properly analyze just seems a bit silly.

Speaking of silly: cultural geography. Oh my goody toe jam. I mean, the readings and the lectures and the discussions are all INTERESTING. But they're so full of high brow intellectual obfuscation that half the time I have to go over the sentence several times to make sure I know what's going on. It's like these authors were all in a thesaurus competition. And Matt says my writing tends to get too wordy. Damn. And really, I look back on what is said and I] think things like "yeah, that's and interesting way to look at this subject" or "wow, I didn't know that this is how the modern city evolved" but I ALWAYS end up asking myself "so what? What's the point? Is this actually relevant or helpful in any way?" And I've yet to reply with a mental "yes."

Well, I think I've calmed myself down enough that I can fall asleep without suddenly waking with conflicting paranoia about UFOs, government backstabbing and weird subterranean fungal infections that explode out of your larynx. Wait, according to this show those DON'T conflict at all... *snort*

On a side note, I'd totally do Mulder. Like, seriously. But I swear I'm only watching the show to increase my cultural literacy--my solemn oath on it!
