i may have slightly over-ordered cake.
i had an excellent time at my birthday mini-golf and movie spectacular (i had serious doubts about the ability of a party with ~8 people to be spectacular but it totally delivered). however, i have so much leftover food (especially cake) that it is more than slightly obscene. the bakery claimed that the cake should serve 12-20 but really, 18-24 would have been a better estimate, and everybody was so stuffed by cake time that all they wanted were TINY SLIVERS mostly! so um, hello 2/3 of a 3-layer 8" cake. i think i need to have another birthday party tomorrow or something. oh wait, i have to work. crap.
while i was in the kitchen fixing spinach-artichoke dip, everybody decided we should watch hairspray. funny, because we watched it at my party last year, when it had JUST come out on video! i was a little surprised that everybody made this selection independently without my having anything to do with it, but seeing as i could watch hairspray for about three days straight at any given time, it was fine with me.
i was going to post a picture here of the remaining cake, but i am way too lazy to a) take a picture and b) get it onto my computer at this juncture. or maybe i am less lazy and more tired. i think my husband has already passed out, so perhaps i will join the club.
