cleaning up

Nov 21, 2008 23:34

spent the afternoon cleaing up the living and dining rooms in preparation for Having People Over. mom came over to help, as did katherine, so in spite of my state of overwhelm which currently verges on mental retardation, we managed to make a big dent in the problem. i have a fair amount left to do tomorrow, but i think i can manage it. and if not, there is a nice big empty bin waiting to accept my junk.

i am feeling torn lately between needing the money from work and not wanting to pick up my camera between now and january. obviously, work wins in the end, but it is so hard not to just ask for this day off and that day off until my availability looks like swiss cheese and actually getting me booked on anything becomes impossible. i have things to do for the holidays, and am not really feeling equipped to handle the big hustle-and-bustle this year. meh.

i think i'm off to flip through my new copy of "everyday food" (acac has bought me a subscription for my birthday but you know how those six-to-eight-weeks type things can go... so i bought the new issue at the store), start a pear/apple/fig/pomegranate fruit salad whose recipe i found on my new favorite blog a few days ago, and enjoy the warmth of a small, furry rubygirl cuddled up next to my leg.
