i voted! and i took my husband with me! he doesn't usually vote, so i'm proud to have gotten him registered and out to the polls. all went smoothly... no waiting, no creepers trying to bug us, no dissapearing voter registrations... let's hope everyone's voting experience runs as smoothly. i actually decided how to vote on all the propositions LAST NIGHT. it's amazing. usually i sit around most of the day on election day hemming and hawing and end up leaving half the ballot blank when i finally go to vote around 6 or 7 p.m. so that was was a nice change for me!
meanwhile, the bread-making adventures continue! i got my awesome library book and last night i made a loaf of chocolate challah (it was quicker than the one i originally planned on making) which is delicious. not TOO chocolatey but still definitely chocolate. the loaf was a little deformed (i think the dough was a little dry and i didn't notice till too late... that's what i get for skipping ahead in the book!) but it is so tasty anyway! i think it would make a great bread pudding or possibly french toast... only i don't think any of it will stick around long enough to do such things with it. i can always make more another time! at the moment, i've got a starter hangin' out in the bread machine, getting ready to make a loaf of shepherd's bread in a few hours.
hmm... not much else to report. GO VOTE if you haven't already. maybe this afternoon i will call and book my birthday party...
