Si Se Puede! Si Se Puede!

I went to a Barack Obama rally tonight last night and it was sooo fun.

I ended up going by myself, because my roommate is a punk! That's right Jenny, I'm talking to you!

*ahem*

The rally was at the Ft. Worth Convention Center. It took me close to an hour to get there in evening traffic, and then took me another half-hour to 40 minutes just to find some fucking parking.

It was paaaacked. The crowd was hyped and was made up of all kinds of different people. Black, white, latino, young, old...it was amazing. I know the media are fond of calling him a rockstar, but it really was like being at a concert.

He spoke for about an hour about healthcare, the war, education, etc. etc. much of it was the same as the other speeches he's made, but hearing him in person with thousands of others was indescribable. There was so much energy.
He also had a funny line about the fact that someone discovered he and Dick Cheney share a (very) distant relation--he actually called him, "My cousin Dick Cheney," which got a mixture of laughter and jeers.

He also mentioned how he was ready to send George W. back here to Texas (the crowd booed and booed, lol)

I started off in the nosebleed seats, but eventually made my way down to a lower level so I could get some clearer pictures. But even with my optical zoom, my pics didn't come out clear at all =/

Where's Waldo?? Can you spot Barack Obama in this photo? He's there, I promise.

Obama on the jumbo screen.

I took this pic when I went down to get clearer pictures.

I also have some video that I recorded from this vantage point, too (only a few seconds per vid), but YouTube ain't cooperating. We'll see if I can get those one's up.
