For the past 11 days, I've been somewhat enjoying having an apartment sans roommates. I could get used to it!
You'd be amazed how many thing you can accomplish, all while not wearing pants.
....the inefficient management has been entering my apartment for ten days straight needing to fix this and paint that. I'm on the first motherfucking floor. My shit should have BEEN done.
10 days of them pounding down my door (usually when I'm still asleep) to paint, change carpets, clean common areas, replace air-condition filters, change smoke detector batteries, etc, etc.
It's wholly apparent to me they aren't scheduling this maintenance in any sort of logical manner.
This ticked me off: they were supposed to paint around the curtain brackets it took me 100 years to install. Instead, the painters tossed them out. How the fuck am I supposed--
Sorry. I JUST had to let some new mofo into my apartment while I was in the middle of typing! Did I mention is 8:30 in the motherfucking morning here?
Anyways, I was lamenting on how I was going to rehang my fly-ass Toffee-colored ultrasuede curtains without brackets. This is some bullshit.
My curtains =[ This picture does not convey the true, rich color and overall flyness of these curtains.
And my living room before I had to strip down all my decorations.
In other news, I met my second roomie. She came by Thursday evening just to have a look around. She looks nice....so far. She's Hispanic and is also from Houston.
Call me jaded, but I'm not hanging any hopes on first impressions. I've been doing this too long not to know that crazy doesn't show its cards early.
BUT I will say that just from talking with her, she seems nicer than the other roommate, whom I've only spoken with on the phone. That one's a sophomore (why do I keep getting stuck with this fucking kids? Even though I filled out my roommate match card when I renewed my lease, stating that I'd prefer to be roomed with upperclassmen. I KNOW I'm not the only person of legal drinking age in these motherfucking apartments).
Anyway, I didn't think to ask the one who stopped by how old she was. But she came with her mom. Which is not a good sign.
Anyway, I'm heading home this Monday. The first time in 7+ months!
My aunt from London and her family are visiting us PLUS it's my birthday next week. My mom really would not let me get away with not coming home.
So I have to condense all my cleaning and errands into today and tomorrow, which means by the time I get back, my roommates will have moved in, and all my pantsless adventures will be over =[
