apartment hunting

Mmm. I'm grubbing on some Spaghetto. If you're wondering what Spaghetto is, it's my newest creation. It's basically spaghetti but I was real ghetto and cooked the pasta by putting it in water and a microwavable bowl. 20 minutes later, and presto! Spaghetto!!! lol.

My parents want me to find an apartment for the coming school year so that I can apply for need-based financial aid. I'm not too thrilled about living off campus. In fact I absolutely hated the idea until I went by this one complex. It's byoooteefullll and so amazing. Here's the website: http://www.cityparc.com

If I wanted to be in a 4x2 (which I learned apartment-speak for 4 bedrooms and two baths. You have to share the living room and kitchen w/other ppl, but each bedroom is individually leased), it'd cost $450/month. I don't think that's too bad, not when it includes water, electricity, trash, internet access and cable + 4 HBO's and 4 Showtimes. I took a tour of the complex and here are some of the hilights:

-Each set of apartments is surrounded by a gate. The gate has a keypad so guests can buzz you AND there's a security camera at each gate which can be accessed by changing to certain channel (55-58) so you can see who's buzzing you.

-All the doors and gates are controlled by electronic keys. Your room key can open the clubhouse, gates, weightroom, etc., but of course, does NOT work on any bedroom door but your own.

-All apartments are fully furnished.

-There's a media room (which was so fucking awesome). Huge screen + DVD player = LOVE.

-Other stuff: swimming pool, internet cafe, fitness center, art studio and music studio.

I want to live there SO. DAMN. BAD. But it looks like my parents won't go for it =/. While I was looking for affordable, I have the feeling they want me to look for dirt-ass cheap. The most frustrating part is that they won't tell me what their price range is. Why can't they just say, "Okay Crystal, we aren't trying to pay more than X amount per month for rent," or "X amount for an apartment is too much". They just tell me to "look in the area". What what kind of fucking apartments do you want me to look at? If I knew, at least I could know if I can to get a decent apartment or if you expect me to get some shit whole-in-the wall efficiency that costs $200 a month. Throw me a damn bone.

my dorm sucks, my apartment sucks, the broke chronicles
