It happened yesterday evening, in front of a fancy restaurant:
I was coming downhill and a blue Ford Taurus attempted to govern my lane, I honked and swerved to miss and one slow collision injured my front passenger-side bumper and wheel well and his driver side door.
I believe the shock set in early, being as this was my first accident.
We moved our cars to a parking lot and exchanged information.
I called my insurance immediately and gave all the details needed. He was nice enough and asked if he should stay while someone came.
At about that time, two vehicles entered the parking lot and a large black security man stepped out to survey the situation.
My guardian watched over me as I explained the damage and figured out what to do. The overcast sky grew dim as I drove my sad little car back to my apartment.
I received much love and comfort from my man as I let go of the shock and discomfort a small accident brings with it.
I shook under the weight of the possibilities: higher insurance premiums, months of hassle, being without a vehicle, litigation...
My adjuster called me this morning and took my statement. After the recording was over, she advised that I did not appear to be at fault.
The other parties insurance company just called me and advised that the other party would be accepting full liability, VINDICATION!
I will have my bumper repaired at no cost to me!
Ron has been making fun of me, calling me a "mariposa mal trata" and other childhood nonsense. He stuck his thumb near my mouth to make his point and I retaliated with "I'll give you a baby!" I immediately retracted the statement, what an ODD thing to say!!! I know it came from somewhere. He was the first person I called about the incident, he was the person who comforted me and who I got to share the good news with. Every day I fall more and more into a place of love with him and he has so much to offer!
Anyway, it's been a whirlwind of an experience, but I'm happy to report I had the best possible outcome ever. SAFE driving, ya'll!
