My Best Friend: The Street Vendor & The War of the Tables

Jun 24, 2005 23:03

My last night in New York City & I`m writing in my LiveJournal...how cool am I? I`m gonna go with REALLY cool.

To start out the day... I returned by new $29.99 K-Mart brand carry-on suitcase. I decided it was too big, and opted for the carry-on bag from Urban Outfitters that I wanted from the beginning. Dana, Isabel & I then went to breakfast at our favorite Natural restaurant in SoHo. After that,I ran a numerous amount of errands to prepare for my departure tommorrow. BOOOOOOOO.

Tonight, we decided to stop by our favorite street vendors jewelry stand. I picked out a few pieces and bidded my favorite Jamaican a farewell. Throughout the past 6-weeks, I believe I bonded with this woman. A slight language barrier was there, yes... But I believe our love for BoHo looking jewelry was very similar. She gave Isabel, Dana and I a parting gift: 3 wooden bracelets. Teary-eyed.. we were much abliged.

We packed up everything and then I decided to 1) Make drinks and 2) Dress up like a homeless woman.

Dana decided to 1) Break her Steve Maddens.

Isabel decided to 1) do Laundry 2) Put a hole in the wall

A clear sign of our personalities.

After this we decided to go retrieve our stolen table from down the hall. (For the story behind this... read Isabels journal, because I don't feel like explaining) After one firm "Business Knock" , the boys knew we meant....business. We rolled the 500 lb table back to the room, losing both my shoes and ruining my pedicure on the way.

I am going to miss NYC so much! I have grown to love it here so much. It's like saying good-bye to someone you really love. I am so grateful to have had this experience. It has truly been something I will remember for the rest of my life. I realized I have the most amazing friends ever , learned a ton about myself, and broadened my horizons greatly.

I <3 NY
