I left work early yesterday to ride up to Philly with
flyingcarpet,
wordplay, and wordplay's daughter. I have to give it to Philly - the show was at the Wells Fargo Center which is located in the same massive complex as the baseball and football stadiums. And while the football stadium was empty, there WAS a baseball game last night. But I was really impressed at the flow of traffic into and out of the parking lots.
The show was SOOO high energy. I think there may have been 1 male to every 100 females.
flyingcarpet and I made the wise choice of having a soft pretzel and a beer for dinner. Also wise, going to the bathroom during the opening act. Minor mishap when I lost my footing on the stairs and landed on my knee in front of several hundred people. But, then the show started and A was so excited she alternated between jumping up and down on her chair while hanging on to
wordplay and I and then covering up her ears from the noise. In summary: Chris Colfer is cuter in person and looks good in tight pants. Yes, I know he's young enough to be my son. HUSH!
This morning, I caught a 6:55am train back down to DC. Got a nice little extra hour or so of sleep until my phone rang and woke me. It was my son's school's guidance counselor asking why he wasn't in the training for being a peer mediator for next school year. Cue massive confusion because the acceptance letter said the training was Saturday! Got it sorted it out in the last few minutes of my train ride, so it all ended well.
In book news, I started reading Game of Thrones. Haven't seen any of the show at all so I am as yet unspoiled for the overall plot.
