We had the cats spayed yesterday. I made a deal with Mom: if she could find a cheap spay/neuter clinic and make the appointment, then I would pay for both animals. So she found out that Popcorn Park Zoo could do it for $100 per cat, plus their shots, which was around $30 per cat. Initially I was going to pay for both operations and Ivy's shots and Mom was going to pay for Molly's shots, but they were having free rabies shots that day and the distemper shots were cheaper than we thought, so I paid for both cats, $226 total. That's around $50-60 cheaper than I paid a few years ago at the vet when I had Chunky spayed.
The cats are doing fine. They're both being quiet, though when I first let her out of her kennel yesterday Ivy had the fidgets from being cooped up so long and was trying to run and jump. They're not supposed to run and jump too much, so I was kind of worried, but she settled down quickly.
My sister went up north yesterday, close enough to see the NYC skyline and she and her friends stopped at some Asian store and brought home treats for everyone. For mom she bought chocolate-covered biscuits shaped like mushrooms and I got Hello Kitty Marshmallows.
They taste really good!
