It seems that I suddenly woke up today and we're already more than halfway through October! The last week and a half has been a haze (and I apologize for my sparse posting) due to a very icky cold that has been going around and that I caught. Last week was spent mostly lying in bed and sipping hot cups of tea. But, I feel much better now, and am finally catching up on things that I neglected.
I'm also getting back on track with my
Me-Made Back to School Wardrobe (which sort of fell in a ditch, since I only completed
2 items for it and miscalculated how much fabric I would need for my other items). My most pressing need is a new trench for fall, since my current one has 3/4 sleeves and it's starting to get really cold here!
I'll be making my trench out of black sateen using
this pattern from McCalls's. After that, I'm moving on to a basic black and white rib knit shirt out of some stash fabric, and then a red sateen skirt using
this pattern from
Colette patterns (I've heard very good things about her patterns, so I'm excited to try it out!)
Anyways, my color palette reminds me of something a French woman would wear, which I love since I have this huge fascination with the French. They can eat carbs and wine and cheese and still stay slim . . .
