After a week and a half laid up sick, I've finally removed myself from my droolencrusted spot on the couch and returned to running. At first, I felt like I would die, but it's getting easier. I'm finding that I am getting back into the groove I was in faster than it took to get there (thankfully) so by next week I should be back to my half mile jogs.

I also noticed something today. I used to hate the feeling that you get when you're winded and you feel like your lungs are going to explode any second. Now...I kinda like it. It's funny how much running is kinda of like a cult. You are doing things that make you feel icky, sore, sweaty and just a little nauseous and finding enjoyment from it. Why? I haven't figured that part out. If I do, I'll let you know.

Anyway, I left the gym with my lungs feeling slightly burny, as if I was running for my life and failed. And it was awesome.
