Open up your image. Crop/scale if you wish.
Duplicate the base layer and go to Colors>Auto>White Balance. (Also known as Auto Levels, I believe, on other programs.) Set it to Normal 30%.
Flatten image.
Add a fill layer of #ffffff and set to Soft Light 100%. Add a layer mask and copy and paste the base layer into the mask. Invert the mask.
Duplicate that layer.
Duplicate the base layer, bring it to the top, and set to Soft Light 100%.
Add a fill layer of #2a1409 and set to Subtract (or Difference) 70%.
Flatten image.
Currently, I have this:
Duplicate the base layer and go to Colors>Components>Channel Mixer. Input these settings.
Red Channel: 117, 30, -30
Green Channel: -11, 111, 0
Blue Channel: -5, -5, 107
Uncheck Preserve Luminosity. Click OK.
Set to Normal 50%.
Flatten image.
Add a fill layer of #404040 and set to Lighten Only 65%
Duplicate that layer and set to Soft Light 65%.
Flatten image.
Go to Colors>Hue-Saturation and input these settings.
Master: -5, 0, 10
That's it! Sharpen/blur to your liking!

Alternate version:
I followed the above steps until adding the Lighten Only Layers.
Add a fill layer of #404040 and set to Lighten Only 65%
Duplicate that layer and leave it at Lighten Only 65%.
Flatten image.
Go to Colors>Hue-Saturation and input these settings.
Master: -5, 0, 10
Cyan: 0, 0, 50
That's it! Sharpen/blur to your liking!
