(no subject)
Watching my classmates here in Hong Kong react to the news of the shootout at Virginia Tech - and that punched-in-the-gut feeling I had when it came out that there were thirty fucking two dead - only reminded me how distance does little to lessen the impact of tragedy. I couldn't breathe, watching that short clip going around the internet, with the gun shots resounding in the background and - fuck?
If I was religious I would pray, but since I am not......all I can do is work harder, work my butt off so that one day I might be in a position to prevent this sort of thing happening anywhere. Yes I'm pretty naive but I don't know what else I'm supposed to think. Or do.
Otherwise.....final IB exams coming up in two weeks. Now that my parents have finally agreed to let me go to London, it's all up to whether I can get the grades LSE is asking for in their conditional offer. Pretty demanding stuff, but I WILL SUCCEED DAMNIT.
