Chinese new year! <3
Ohh, happy happy days. <3
Off school for a week in time for Chinese New Year; tomorrow's the big day and most Chinese families over here, including mine, spent the last day of the year dusting, mopping, fluffing the cushions and just cleaning up in general. This is what I love about new years - everything's brightened up in the hopes for a new start, a new beginning. So much friendliness in public - usually Hong Kong is too cold, people filing past each other on the streets as if we were all disconnected individuals instead of one of the most vibrant communities in Asia - and I love the sense of camaderie, of the shared tradition.
To all those who celebrate Chinese new year - hope you guys get a lot of lai see! ^____^ Ohhh, I'm in heaven. Money, yummy yummy Chinese treats, general prettiness (red and gold everywhere! <3) and festivities all around........my backyard is full of freshly bought orchids and tangerine blossoms and I hereby declare that they are rather awesome.
