counting crows are no longer friends with geffen

Hi all. So today I missed my first ever day of uni because I woke up with a splitting headache and thus am sick like the rest of my family right now LOL (save my dad who escaped the germs due to being in Morwell all week). According to my mum I had a slight fever earlier. What fun. So anyway have a TV post in no particular order because I cannae be bothered pimping anything. That reminds me, I have my first uni essay due next Friday!

  • HIMYM: I find it necessary to note to you guys that HIMYM is being shown here in a 7.30 time slot and as such "Naked Man" wasn't shown, probably because the nudity made it unsuitable for 7.30 LOL. I don't think the classification board actually watched it before doing that. It has also occurred to me that we're only up to 4x11 and thus we are so very behind that I'm reading spoilers. I'm really hanging out for the rest of the season though cause all of you guys are picspamming it/quoting it/loving it. What I will say is this: "Little Minnesota" felt a bit like filler, and GRETCHEN STOP TRYING TO MAKE FETCH TED AND ROBIN HAPPEN IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN. I get it, writers, you have to postpone a new relationship for Ted until he's/we're over the loss of Stella and so you're stalling. But HIMYM is not all about Ted and even if it is, we've known Robin's not the mother since the first episode, sooooo...a bit pointless, y? Especially when Barney's in love with her. For realz yo.
  • Cold Case (6x09): I really love Scotty/Frankie and it's only been one episode. I hope she doesn't jump off a bridge or get arrested for credit card fraud and they live happy lives bonding over baseball and stories from pictures. (Though obviously there wouldn't be much point to that LOL). Sometimes I feel like this show picks on Scotty way too much, almost as much as they victimize Lill, but the show itself is still awesome. I don't know why I've become a Cold Case addict recently! Also, there needs to be less CSI crossovers and more Cold Case/Without A Trace crossovers before they both get canceled.
  • Brothers and Sisters (3x07): Yeah, so, this was one of those episodes that reminded me why people don't watch this show, because sometimes it can be a bit blah. It felt like a means to an end, setting stuff up for mid season or whatever. Also, this must be the third time Scotty has been "stuck at work" during a Walker get together and I'm tired of him not showing up as much as, say, Tommy's wife or Saul or any other recurring character. But that said I am interested in this baby business and Kevin and Scotty in general and whether Ryan is ever actually going to show up. And other spoilers I will not spoil you with! (But, question: is Balthazar Getty leaving? Also, does he know his cheating ways are so prominent that cheating men are apparently now being referred to as "Balthazars" by the masses? LOL).
  • Dexter (season 2): I like Lila. I'm still waiting for Dex and Rita to reconcile though. I don't like her mother. I wonder about the logistics of faking a drug addiction, and being able to lie about it. Is he just not talking at those meetings? I like the idea of him seeing serial killering being an "addiction" of sorts though. I think this show has some really smart writers even if they are adapting the book(s - anyone know if they're deriving solely from Darkly Dreaming Dexter or form the others as well now?).
  • Eli Stone: My mum is now convinced she has the kiss of death when it comes to TV shows because everything she starts watching gets canceled. Anyway, I wish Eli hadn't been canceled. It looks like we're actually going to see those 4 unaired episodes here though, which is awesome. Though not as awesome as it not getting canceled in the first place would have been. And if I had my way I'd bring Pushing Daisies back too since it got canceled in the same fell swoop. Dirty Sexy Money, though, I would let go. Michael C Hall totally won the post-Six Feet Under casting contest.
  • House (5x16): K, I'll admit it, I'm actually kind of impressed with the way they're handling Thirteen's bisexuality now. In earlier eps it felt like they were treating her as though it was something freakish or strange, or worse, that she was just confused and hadn't "chosen" yet, but they're getting way better at treating it respectfully. And I kind of love Foreteen as well. I forgot how sweet he can be when he's not being all ruthless, and there hasn't been a single mention of their biracial-ness either. Oh, and I knew the methadone wouldn't stick. Or work. I mean, if you could stay on that stuff permanently we wouldn't have any heroin addicts would we? We'd have methadone addicts. Quite frankly I wish they'd stop having House take up new pain management/having Cuddy and co inflict them on him and focus on the side effects of long term Vicodin usage instead, like the liver failure he'll probably get eventually. Or the hip replacement he'll eventually need from walking on that cane.
  • Lost (5x06): You tell them, Desmond!

Also we had another earthquake this week. I didn't feel it in because I was in the city at the time, and the epicenter of the quake was in the rural south, so it was felt more by eastern suburbs people apparently. My mum felt it when she was in the middle of the shopping center and said she wondered what to do because there were no doorways LOL. In a weird coincidence a total of three TV series featured earthquakes and apocalypses in their eps this week as well. ~Foreshadowing~!

Anyway, I leave you with my plans for this week: getting better, writing/handing in that essay, movie with my friend Heather, class, and dinner with my friend Laura in St Kilda right before the concert. COUNTING CROWS IN 7 DAYS WOO! I am going to go play them now.
