BECAUSE I FINALLY FINISHED MY YULETIDE STORY WOO!
My god, this story has been a trial and a half. I have literally been agonizing over this thing for the past few weeks and now all I have to do is write a couple of lines to tie a few things together, and then print it out and edit a little before I go to bed. (It has to be uploaded to the site by 1pm my time tomorrow). Am I proud of said story? I am proud of the fact that I actually finished/didn't default. The story itself I think a need a little distance from LOL. I don't hate it, which is pretty much all I can say about it at this juncture without giving the fandom away. All you fic perusers MUST check out the site when stories go up after Christmas because yuletide stories are the best type of stories in small fandoms. It's not debatable. It's just true. At least I think it's true. It may not be true; it may be false. What would I know. (ETA: screencap!)
So! News day...
- ...was yesterday because LJ updatified again! I'm starting to love newsposts because they're just huge havens of complaint now. Besides a new post-to-LJ bookmarklet that doesn't do much and yet another change to the profile page (by the LJ sage, who are all deranged, yay rhyming) there is Not Much in there. Which of course equals 7 pages of people complaining about the overdue al a carte userpics sale. Natch.
- Alongside that, details on profile page screwage, release 44 and, er, release 44.1. Apparently there will be more of those.
- This is legendary: HIMYM cast acts out random moments from 2008. You can see Colbie's old modeling ways come out as Cate Blanchett, eh. And the Jonas Brothers! (ONTDish thought I had today: Jonas Brothers = the new Hanson, y/y? Totally. Meggie, t-shirt idea!). (Also, I would still do two of the Jonas Brothers but I don't know their names and I know two of them are illegal. So in summary I am a criminal :D Who was I kidding, I was always a criminal. Am I right? High five!).
Also also, I just wanted to report that the family and I are probably going to be heading up to my dad's place after Christmas for a few days. It was my idea because I want to go to a beach that isn't full of seaweed. I'll do an away post for it of course and we'll be back before New Year's, and I'll update on Christmas anyway, but just so you kids know! Any of you heading anywhere?
