the notebook
So I dunno if anyone has noticed, but it seems like I haven't really written anything in a while. That's pretty much true, because my writing computer, the one in my room, has been on the blink again. It's doing the random shutdown thing, where it just shuts down randomly (duh) and I have to unplug it at the back to have it turn on again. Anyway, so when that happens and I can't write, I put my ideas down in this little blue notebook Mum gave me for Xmas. I thought I'd share some excerpts for upcoming stories.
All the stuff in italics is pretty much verbatim to my little notebook.
VMars drabble - written very late one night by torchlight. I don't remember the inspiration, but I think it works well.

She wonders sometimes if she could bottle the trials and tribulations of her life and send sell them to a soap opera. The story of the year. In Neptune, light years away from the innocence of Hollywood, Veronica Mars is yesterday's news. She knows she isn't the talk of the town anymore, proof that even the most sordid, live-or-die-hard rumours eventually drown in better words.
Sometimes she wonders though, if she ever really was on the front page, if she ever was a crucial part of lockerside whispers and notes passed in study hall. After all, it was never really her, was it? It was her father, or her dead best friend, or her boyfriend. A sweet part of it all, of course she was, but just like reality, she felt merely like the branches; part of a big picture tying everything together with a big red bow. The real star of this story was Lilly Kane, who proved to be the best at being talked about even in death; with Veronica Mars by the wayside, supporting her father as he fought to bring her second family down. A guest star in her own life. She cant live it without thinking of Lilly or seeing Duncan or having her Dad, because her life is as much theirs as hers.
It almost makes her laugh. All this time, and she doesn't even have a story left to sell.
Songfics - two songfic ideas, one general, one Lost-related. I just have to do one for Afterglow, and ever since Fix You came out, I've wanted to do a Jack story with it, cause it's, y'know, Jack's song. And I will tryyyyyyyy to fix yooooooooou :p
Songfic Ideas - 19.01.06
INXS "Afterglow" - story of a man living and existing after the death of his fiancé. Do all the old death stuff - as if she's just gone for a few days, sees her everywhere, how she picked roses for her bouquet and then the order was used for her funeral, doesn't move her things or open her mail, every couple he sees is a reminder. But at night, he slips into a denial, because she comes to see him most nights. He knows it isn't really her and he's just dreaming, but its as if nothing has changed and she's there again. It keeps him alive knowing he only has to hold on until that day he gets to see here, for real. But every time she leaves it kills him, knowing how long it will be and how hard.
He's no longer a person, just a man, living in the mess she left. Surviving on the life she left behind.
Note: the following idea was jotted down before I saw 2x11. I will possibly write it based on the original idea I had, or I'll write it as it was in 2x11. Or both :bleh:
Coldplay "Fix You" - fanfic: Jack/Sarah. Story of how he lost her as she disappeared a year after their wedding. He'd known she'd not been herself beforehand but didn't do anything as work kept him busy. And then one day she was gone, just gone, and he's forever blamed himself for not getting to her, not being able to fix her in time. Never accepted she was gone. When his father dies, he feels as if there's nothing left, like everyone he loves just disintegrates, to nothing, to just being gone. So he takes the step of leaving to rescue someone who isn't gone, only to crash on an island with strangers. And even though he notices Kate and feels like he's moving on, he's still scared out of his mind, 100% of the time.
He knows how she'll look because he dreamt about it for years. Deep down he’ll neve stop dreaming and believing - it's just his nature. Because she will find her way so he can find a way to fix her once again.
Even the lost can be saved.
Yeah, I don't know if that was interesting to anyone, but there you go XD Hopefully I don't sound too self-important. Or cheesy, for that matter.
Oh, FYI, I didn't win over at lost_awards, but yay, i got nommed! :DDD That's good enough for me.
