K, I know I only updated yesterday. However, I haven't pimped much of anything fandom-related in a while and it's been like News Central on LJ today, so here is a bunch of notable random stuff, and mostly not strike related!
First up, it's
LJ news time again with a lot of stuff that will please a lot of people. Notably, comment editing for paid members. I'm so glad that's been implemented now ebcause there have literally been
news-readers hassling management about that for yonks. I, personally, could always understand why LJ hesitated to do it since it's a very theory VS practice implementation (imagine all the fights editing of a comment could cause in a comm such as
politicsforum), but not being allowed to edit a comment after it's been replied to helps a lot. That's not to say it couldn't still be used to change what you wanted to say and cause arguments, not to even mention the craziness someone could do if they managed to hack an LJ, but at least only Paid members are allowed to cause chaos with it.
This was what really made me do a double take on my f-list:
Tim Kring apologizes for and lists everything wrong with Heroes, season 2. My first thought when I saw this was that he should be standing by his show and not have to apologize for everything, but while he makes some very true statements, it feels a bit like he's compelled to apologize for everything. I may be in the minority but I can name a lot of things I've liked about season two so far - Maya and Ale, Monica, Peter finding himself again with the help of Caitlin, Elle, Niki checking in, etc. I do love, however, that people are apparentaly not complaining about M3 ♥. But I find it a bit ironic that Kring is criticizing the show's writing while in the picket line of the writer's strike. Not the smartest move there. While we're on the topic, Jenna Fischer has posted about the writer's strike
here and her recently-ex-husband James Gunn
here, and BTW I love that Steve Carell is in fact a WGA member and not just a strike supporter. It's just awesome.
Finally, I'm listening Jovi's "Everyday" since I finally found an affordable copy of "Bounce" last week and wow, the album version is really different to the one they rocked-up for the single. I can't believe they are coming here in the flesh. Seriously! SO EXCITED!
