Donghae’s POV
“Yah! What took you so long?! Do you want me to pull your fangs? ” Jaejoong-hyung admonished me.
We dropped by a convenience store to buy my favorite chocolate milk. I just need to buy it but something caught my attention. I saw two silver necklaces with ‘key of heart’ on it. I was mesmerized by the ‘key of heart’ so I bought it.
“Hyung, Sorry. It’s just something caught my attention.” I smiled and approached the car immediately.
In the car, my three brothers sat in front of me, laughing like there’s no tomorrow. While me, sitting here with my quiet-but-frank sister, Seo hyun. I noticed her thinking something. She’s in deep thoughts. I nudged her and she quickly looked at me.
“What’s bothering you?” I asked. I directly looked at her.
She looked away and sighed. “Nothing. It’s just that I feel something fishy why Dad sent us here, even study in a human school. I’m fine in the vampire school.”
“Something fishy?” I curiously asked her.
“There must be a reason. I think even Heechul-hyung and Jaejoong-hyung knew why we’re here.”
“What do you think is the reason?” I asked her while putting the straw in my chocolate milk.
“Lee Hyukjae, your angel.”
She answered, putting stress to the last two words. I suddenly stopped and looked at her. My angel, huh?
I raised an eyebrow and crossed my arms to my chest.
“What do you mean ‘my angel’? And why the hell he is the reason?” I mockingly asked her.
“Aigoo, oppa, should I tell you again the reasons? You always act like you don’t know that. Well, it doesn’t really matter to me, you know, I’m not involved in that mess.”
“But you’re still part of the family, so you’re involved.”I retorted.
“I never wish to. You know what, you all three just want revenge. You want to destroy their family because they destroyed yours. They killed your mother but you’re actually fine with it from the start. It’s just Heechul-oppa forced you to hate them. You’re not too close to your mother so you just became sad. In my case, I was adopted.” She sighed.
“Your mother bit me before passing away. That’s why your family adopted me, because we all know, that she created a ritual that transferred her abilities to mine. I never dreamed of becoming a vampire, oppa.”
She looked at me and our eyes met. Her eyes suddenly glowed light red.
“I just want a normal life. And I know you want too. What you feel for Hyukjae is not revenge, its envy. ” She weakly smiled and looked away.
This girl is not really my biological sister. But I really love her more than my two annoying real brothers. All she said was true. It was Heechul-hyung who forced me to hate them. I literally don’t hate them. I just dislike them. Ever since I was born, I really can’t feel any love from my parents. They only encouraged and supported me. I want to be treated special like that Lee Hyukjae. Heechul-hyung just helped me out and forced me to be the prince or leader of all vampires.
That’s all. It’s pure hatred.
“Yah. You two, stop whispering. We’re almost here in school. Get ready.” Jaejoong-hyung interrupted my thoughts. We grabbed our bags and fixed ourselves.
“Ahh~ So refreshing~ “Taemin beamed.
“Ahh~ I can smell angels out there from here. Want to catch some, Donghae?” He turned to me with a smirk. I chuckled and looked at my watch.
“The whole day will be busy, hyung, for sure. Maybe next time.”
The car stopped and we all stepped down. I inhale the scent of the school of human. It’s nice, like resting in a shore. It’s soothing my mind.
“Aigoo~ This is still the first day. Let’s have some fun first.” He whined.
“Pass.” Taemin butted in which he crossed his arms, forming a letter X, indicating a no.
“Yup. Save it for later, hyung. I’m still not in a mood.” I protested.
“Donghae is right. It’s freaking morning, Chulie.” Jaejoong-hyung butted in. Heechul looked at Seo hyun with pleading eyes. She smirked and chuckled.
“Your cuteness didn’t work this time. Better luck next time, oppa.”
“What’s with you people?! Especially you, Joongie! Aiissshh!”
Heechul-hyung grunted and stomped his feet like a child. We giggled and walked through the campus. We walked a minute and suddenly I felt a presence. I felt a hot wind passed my skin. I stopped suddenly and looked at my left, where the building is located. I scanned the building and it looks like I’m looking for something…or for someone.
Then, I saw a pale, light-colored hair through the windows. I examined the figure and stared at it for a while. It’s him. My eyes widened and muttered his name.
“Lee...Lee Hyukjae…”
