And Everything: Ianto's story part eleven
Alrighty guys, sorry this took me so long I had to study for my theory test... on the plus side I passed on the down side I have gotten behind with my fan fics... sorry.

Here's part Eleven, things are going from bad to worst for Ianto as he and the doctor make a horrible discovery.
Ianto had tried to leave Evelyn at his flat under the doctor’s care but he had insisted on coming with him. Taking the TARDIS like Ianto wanted to would have been to dangerous if some un known alien race had invaded the hub then the TARDIS technology had to be kept safe.
They were currently driving very fast in Ianto’s car, he had decided to drop Evelyn off with Rhys first she would be much safer that way. Ianto had his foot to the floor, the doctor sat in the back seat he had the answering and was playing the recording over and over again.
“He gets cut off mid sentence,” said the doctor, Evelyn was sitting in her car seat in the passenger seat. Ianto had brought it for her the weekend after he found out that Jack was pregnant, he didn’t tell Jack at the time he was having trouble adjusting to the idea that he had knocked up his boss. “He said something about a nasty alien…and Owen wrapping up his arm…Doctor Owen maybe it bit him or something…” Ianto knew that he was only trying to help but he wished that the Doctor would stop replaying it.
Ianto stamped on the brakes and jumped out of the car he ran around to the passenger’s door and got Evelyn out of the car. The doctor followed them in to Gwen’s building Ianto used the spare key that every member of the Torchwood team was required to leave at the hub. Ianto was in charge of them and kept them on the SUV’s key chain. He knocked on Gwen’s door Rhys answered when he saw who it was the smiled dropped from his face. “Where’s Gwen” he asked before Ianto could open his mouth.
“The hub, we think something happened we don’t know what the doctor and I are going to check it out I need you to baby sit,” said Ianto cutting a long story short.
“Fuck that shit if Gwen’s in trouble I’m coming with you.” Snapped Rhys.
“No swearing in front of Evelyn,” snapped the doctor.
After a very long argument with Rhys in which Ianto protested three times that they were wasting time the four of them made their way to the hub. Ianto had asked Rhys to stay in the car with Evelyn but he refused and got out as soon as they pulled into the hub’s garage. The doctor suggested Ianto stay in the car with Evelyn, but there was no way that Ianto was going to stay in the car after hearing Jack scream like that. He held Evelyn tightly to his chest as he got out of the car. He followed the doctor and Rhys through the red door into the main room of the hub. It was spookily quiet, Evelyn wrapped her arms tighter around Ianto’s neck, “Danto” she said.
“Yes” whispered Ianto.
“Where Daddy?” she whispered in his ear clearly getting the hint that being quiet was necessary.
“I don’t know baby,” he whispered back. She kissed his cheek and nuzzled her face into his neck.
They walked slowly through the hub sticking closely together until Rhys saw Gwen lying on the walk way that lead to the hot house. “Gwen” he shouted and ran up the spiral staircase towards her. She was lying on her back and was very still, Ianto’s stomach dropped.
One night months ago Jack had woken up in the middle of the night screaming ‘Alex’, when Ianto pushed him into telling him who Alex was, Jack explained that on New Year’s eve Jack had returned to the hub to find everyone dead and this Alex committed suicide right in front of him.
Ianto suddenly felt like Jack must have when he walked into a too quiet hub that night. He and the doctor walked slowly over to the computers, the doctor started to pull up the CCTV and Ianto looked slowly around. Then he saw Owen lying on his front on the upper section of the autopsy room. His eyes where wide open and he was staring at something, “Doctor” said Ianto pointing at Owen.
The doctor wasn’t looking at Owen he was looking at something over Ianto’s shoulder.
“Toshiko” he whispered and pointed into Jack’s office. Ianto turned to look at her; she had her knees to her chest and was staring at nothing just like Owen. Ianto moved towards her and the doctor went to check that Owen was okay. Toshiko had deep cuts on her arms that looked like they had been made by fingernails. Ianto knelt in front of her still clinging to his child, “Tosh” he whispered.
“Mom?” she whispered back.
“No, its Ianto…” she had sweat all over her face and had clearly been crying, “and Evelyn” he added kindly.
“The… pain” she whispered. Ianto wished he had a babysitter, Evelyn really shouldn’t be here Ianto didn’t like this one bit.
“What about the pain?” Ianto asked trying to get Tosh to focus on him.
“So much… darkness”
“Tosh your not making sense’ he told her, cling tightly to his daughter, he could feel her breath on his neck.
“Ianto” said a voice behind him. He turned to face the doctor, “Owen said two things, nightmare and vibe” the doctor held out a book of matches that he had in his hand. Ianto took them from him they had a symbol on them and they where from a nightclub.
“Vibe,” said Ianto half repeating it, half reading it. “It’s the new club on the bay.”
Rhys appeared behind the doctor, “I found Jack up there as well…” reading the look on Ianto’s face he added, “don’t go up there especially not with her… he’s in a bit of a mess… but breathing he’s still breathing. Where’s Owen we need to get Jack some help”
“Owen’s in no condition to issue treatment” said the Doctor “and trust me Jack will be fine. We needed to go to this club and find out what’s going on there.” The doctor walked around the office, he looked up at the ceiling. “Ah” he said slowly, “there you are.”
Ianto and Rhys looked up at the ceiling as well there was a creature clinging to it; it looked like a giant red scorpion with horrible brown wings. It had a long ugly sting that glowed a nasty green and long leg that was more like spider legs than scorpion ones. The doctor spun around, “the club…their psychic kill the queen and the rest will die. They take over planets by crippling the population with hallucinations.”
The beat reached down with its awful legs and wrapped them around the doctor’s waist it brought it stinger down and stabbed him in the back. The doctor’s eyes when wide with fear and he screamed it was a terrible scream. Equalled only to the one that left the mouth of a man that lived in Jack’s care home for victims of the rift. Ianto stood up and started to back towards the door his daughter still in his arms. Rhys wasn’t moving he was frozen to the spot.
“Rhys” Ianto hissed through gritted teeth, “move,” hissed again. Suddenly and without warning Rhys burst into life and ran at the door. Bad move it seemed that the creature’s sight was based on movement, because without missing a beat it went after him. Ianto wanted to help him, but he couldn’t risk his daughter he made a run of the invisible lift. Evelyn screamed as the creature took out Rhys it wasn’t a pretty sight he kicked at it and screamed and wet himself at what ever it planted in his mind.
Ianto put Evelyn on the lift and pressed the controls as it started to move upwards Ianto ran for the weapons room. If that thing was anything to go by the queen was going to be huge. He heard his daughter scream again as he rested his hands on the biggest gun the weapons room had to offer. He saw through the glass windows that the beast was flying towards Evelyn.
His heart dropped hastily he removed the straps that held the gun on the wall. It wouldn’t move he started to sweat that thing was going to hurt his little girl. Suddenly with an ear splitting squawk Myfanwy flew that the beast flapping her wings and starching at it with her claws.
They tumbled in the air and clash landed in the water trench at the foot of the water tower. Ianto ranched the gun off the wall as he passed the table in the middle of the weapons room he grabbed the bottle of BBQ sauce he through it as hard as he could into the air and shot it to pieces. The sauce flew on a pile of unsorted paper work on Gwen’s desk. Smelling dinner Myfanwy abandoned the fight and flew down to the desk. The creature turned to face Ianto; fighting as fast as it could towards Ianto once again he raised the gun and shot it in its ugly face.
The creature blew up and splattered the hub with its innards, “I know how’ll have to clean that up” Ianto muttered to himself.
He looked over at Myfanwy how was eating Gwen’s reports, “great” he said to himself “your never going to digest that, and I know how’s going to have to clean that up.”
Ianto wished he had thought of a cleaner way to destroy the creature. Ianto ran to the lift controls and brought the lift back down Evelyn was still at the centre of it tears ran down her face. She was crying loudly and reaching out for Ianto, he picked up his little girl. “Its alright baby, Danto’s got you I won’t let anything happen to you sweetie.”
“I… want…daddy,” she blubbered in between sobs. “I… want…ducky,” she added.
“I’m sorry daring” he said holding her closely as he turned towards the hot room and looked up at the second floor, "its just you and me for now".
He could see Jack’s left arm and head his face was covered in blood. Ianto swallowed hard he wanted to go up there and sit with Jack until somehow all the pain went away. Just like when Jack made the pain disappear after Lisa had died. But it was different now Jack needed him to stop the pain, to look after their daughter and to save the world. He was not going to let Jack down not after all they had been through. Making sure that Evelyn couldn’t see Jack as he turned back towards the hub he picked up the gun and stood on the invisible lift. His mission was clear he had to kill the queen.
