so, not to make the new job sound perfect or anything, because as much as I do enjoy it and like being here there are the down sides... and sometimes one of those sides is one of my coworkers.
He's a great guy, and he's fun to be with most times, but the reason I'm here is because he's not an organized person, and doesn't like numbers and paperwork - but I do! so it works out well... most days. So i'm in the process of reorganizing the space and cleaning up and clearing up issues from before and finding systems to prevent them in the future. But what got me riled today is that, the box office is only one of the roles I'm playing here. One of the other roles that will become bigger and more important at the end of the summer when I take over for Kim's maternity leave. So today was a volunteer appreciation luncheon that I was to help set up for and hang out for so I can know what goes on, since I will be running it next year. Jason knew that I was going to have to leave the office for several hours today in order to do that... so what does he do? sends a generic email to Laura and myself saying he's having a "sick morning" and will be in around 3 to relieve me!!! grrr.
There is a festival going on, and I was supposed to work late yesterday, but instead he did because he wanted to help me out or whatever since I had taken a time from him... but I was fine to work, and now I can't go help with the event I have to know how to run because there is no one to work the box office if I do! so thanks, thanks so much for taking a shift I didn't mind working to not show up when I need you. Thanks! grrr.
