& perusing the website's DVD section one evening, I came across Devil's Playground. I had never heard of it & it looked interesting, yet I didn't want to spend money on something I wasn't completely sure was worth it. Fast forward a couple days later to me in the video store, looking to rent Valley of the Dolls after just finishing the book. I go past the new releases, I see a familiar DVD cover of an Amish girl in full garb lighting what looked like a Benson & Hedges 120 in the backseat of (gasp) a car. Of course I rented it & thought it was pretty fascinating. Seeing these teenagers talk sex, drugs, & nintendo, & then hopping in the horse & buggy was a trip. I must be on some sort of documentary kick, in the past 2 months alone I saw Super Size Me, Spellbound, & now Devil's Playground. It's hard to say which was my favorite of these 3, but I'll never forget the documentary me & Maxie rented from Blockbuster of all places that was all about these homeless kids in Seattle in the very early 80's (mullets & boomboxes rested on the shoulder & all). I just wish I could remember the name.....
