Santa Baby was written in 1953 by Joan Javits and Philip Springer and was originally recorded by Eartha Kitt. In 1954 Eartha Kitt recorded another version of the song called This Year’s Santa Baby which was less successful.

Oh. You're right, it def changes the mood of the song having a man sing it. Not so sure I like it, though I do love Michael Buble. His voice is just ridiculous! (In a good way, ofc.)
