On Love
Ten years ago, my life changed. I got home from work and wait for the Heaney's to pick me up to go shopping for my first car. We headed down the street and back up again when the original destination was a bust. But as we were heading back, I yelled, "Pa! Pa! Stop! There! That's my car!" He made a quick right into the parking lot, and this really cute guy came out of the store. He made his introductions but all I cared about was getting into that Scion tC. The first thing I told my pa was how I could change the lights on the dashboard and opened up the double moon roofs. As I was yammering on to pa about how cool it feels to be driving the car, my ma is talking to the sales guy in the back.
The next day when I called to thank her she says, "You know who has a great smile? Jonathan." I couldn't believe what she was saying. "Ok, well give my love to Pa." She continues on, "And you know? He really likes his mom and he was just giving you these looks..." I thanked her and hung up.
Over the next few days, I took my girlfriends around. One night, me, Aim, Crystallis, and the Fat Girl were at the dollar section of Target when I got a text message. "Hi. What cha up to?" "Just at target with my girlfriends. You?" "Nothing. Just sitting here, hoping to have dinner with you tomorrow night..." I screamed aloud at the store.
I married him today. The Green Eyes. I had pined for him for years. Aim would listen to all my on and off again with this guy. And then, we went to that Little Dragon concert. And then I stayed over after my laptop was stolen. And then he told me that he loved him during that Fourth of July concert. It was great. Despite the drama with my mom and my sisters, I got to marry him.
Fuck I love looking at that fat shiny piece of ice on my finger.
