Sarabande
Yesterday we went to the summer ball Sarabande in Belgium. It was super! We had a really fun time. It was the second time the ball was held, but the atmosphere was much better than the first one. The location, Castle of Poeke, is awesome. That's one castle I'd like to have. :-) The rooms are small, but that gives the ball a cosy feeling, although it's sometime a bit too small. I don't mind though, it belongs to an event like Sarabande in my opinion.
We arrived at 7.00 pm and immediately had a magical feeling. Seeing all those beautifully dressed people in front of the castle is just magical. Then we started with absinth. The first time I tasted absinth was at the first edition of Sarabande. I didn't think it was that special, but I kept on drinking it on various events because I think a special ball/event deserves a special drink. And so I got hooked. :-D So when I saw they offered a special kind of absinth, Roquette, I decided to taste it and believe me it's lovely! I really like it, but it's kind of heavy stuff. When I was halfway drinking it, the historical dance lessons by Lieven Baert started and I really wanted to join. So you can imagine: I drank it all at once. Maybe, just maybe ;-), that contributed to the fact that I totally got lost in the whole dancing thing. At first it started out simple and it was okay, but later on it got more difficult and I got lost. LOL But after a 15 minute break, we decided to get back in because Albert liked it so much and was actually good at it (which surprised himself the most) and I then got the hang of it. It was really nice to do and I'm certainly looking forward to another ball to dance.

And of course we had some more absinth and also violet sekt which was also very good! I really love all these special foods and drinks. Gets me really excited. :-D Although the excitement is gone the day after. ROFL. Took me a while to get started today, but hey, it's Sunday anyway.
It was so much fun to see all those beautiful people and to talk to everyone again. We had a super evening!
