(no subject)

so we all woke up early this morning with the intention of going to the farmer's market at PSU. we're doing our morning routines and then my mom shows up at the front door. my older sister is pregnant with her newly deceased boyfriend's baby. :[ I know he had a bad heart for a while, in the last year he's been told to stop working, had several surgeries and he was given a defibrillator not too long ago. my sister said he left to take the garbage out and then just never came home... I guess she was woken up by a police officer telling her they found her car on the side of the road with him dead in the backseat. it's really... weird. I don't know, I'm not sure how exactly to process all of this information.
my poor sister... she's been pregnant with his baby before, about 3 years ago, but she ended up having a miscarriage in the second trimester. I remember her saying that the doctors told her there was something wrong with her uterus? so I don't know, I hope she doesn't lose this baby too. here's hoping that since the doctors know her medical history they can prevent whatever happened last time. I just can't even imagine losing my partner, finding out I'm pregnant, and then losing the baby too.
soooooo tomorrow night me, my mom and elliot will be on a red eye flight to virginia. I'll be staying for 2 weeks, I don't know how long my mom will be out. my uncle paid for our last minute tickets. I'm SO thankful, they were $1300 and he said we don't have to pay him back. I'm so scared to fly with elliot!!! I have no idea how to do this- do I check the car seat? the stroller too?? I figured I'd wear him on the plane and jksdfhajkhfsjkfah. google skills, don't fail me now.
man, I'm excited to see my sister but I hate the circumstances. I also hate that we'll be in virginia in the middle of summer. it's going to be so hot and HUMID. I'm so spoiled by the PNW's dry dry air.
in other news... I got a letter from the clinic where I did my prenatal thing saying I have to come in for an annual check up. I guess I should call them and say thanks, but my uninsured behind is going to the county health department. which I need to do anyway, time for the yearly pap plus they offer the HPV shots for $15!! that's freaking incredible. because I need to get those shots. and I be broke.
