Fifty First Summons: Another loss

[Ai has been following Kikuri's drone around recently. But she's starting to realize that the little girl isn't going to snap out of it. People who know Ai may have noticed that she's even quieter then normal

[It's been awhile since he's been to the library, and seeing something like this? Not what he was expecting. Even less when he sees who it is.

...Won't stop him from saying hey, though.]

[She looks over from pulling some more books.]

[He just watches for a moment, before cautiously asking.]

So what's the occasion?

I was bored.

[However...she's quieter then normal.]

So whenever you're bored, you go and build a book fort, is what you're telling me.

[miss_enma_ai]

.....no.

But I didn't want to stay in the house.

[godisachild]

Uh-huh.

Who got droned?

[He's not the master of tact by any stretch of the imagination, but...you're Slugger's friend. And you aren't horrible. So he guesses it's his responsible to help check up on you too.]

[miss_enma_ai]

[There's a bit of a pause.]

Kikuri. She was from my world.

[Pokey just stops himself from asking if you were actually close. If this was the reaction, he'd assume that's the case.]

That sucks.

Sorry.

[Trying to be comforting is hard and he really doesn't have any clue how he's supposed to do it.]

[She understands that. She's not really sure how you be comforting either.]

[Pokey just shrugs, uncomfortably. Unused to giving comfort and unused to being thank, Pokey is an awkward turtle all around.]

Yeah it's no problem.

...Are you going to be okay?

I think.

I hope she's at home.

[godisachild]

She is. I'm sure she'll be fine.

[He doesn't believe that. Not for a minute. When the worst can happen, Pokey heavily believes it will.

But if there's one skill Pokey can be argued to have, without doubt, and to be a master of? It's lying. Absolutely nothing betrays that he thinks otherwise. He's a fantastic liar.

To himself, and to others.]

Yes.

[The thing is. With Ai, she also will always believe the worst. The only reason she doesn't right now? It would break her. And so she's in denial of her own thoughts right now. Kikuri is safe at home, with her companions to look after her till Ai get's back. That's all she's going to believe.]

....So. No sense worrying about it, right?

There's candy.

[She's still new to this. But Halloween is her favourite holiday.]
