Title: Get Over It
Characters: Britain, mentions of America
Challenge: Prompt: Anniversary
Bonus Words: promise, loss, gain, time
Rating: K+ for language, but it could change.
Summary: Britain just can’t accept the fact he lost his little brother.
A/N: I’m giving away too much with that summary.

He promised himself he wouldn’t feel bitter after what happened, but he broke it and ended up being irritable. It had been a year since he had signed that stupid treaty so he could let America become an official nation.

Damn that stubborn boy. Britain’s loss was America’s gain, and it sucked so much because Britain was being a bitch about losing America. He knew the kid had won fair and square, which, frankly, escaped the older nation as to how he was able to do it, but he slammed his fists on each of his tables every time he thought about it. ‘Damn America, damn France, damn Prussia, damn Germany, damn Spain…those bloody gits could go to hell,’ he would think afterwards.

His little brother had left him so he could become his own boss. Stupid war kicked his ass and left his government and his people embarrassed at the novice’s win. Britain, the grand ruler of the seas, the great empire, the super power of the world, was beaten by a hotheaded teenager with a naïve dream. It made his blood boil. Only time would tell if the young boy was to succeed without him or not.

If he didn’t do so well on his own, Britain would not be there to take him back.

He remembered when France handed him the pen so he could sign the document that stated that America would no longer be bound to Britain. After a year, he threw pens out of his sight because it was too painful to even look at a pen. However, he had better things to worry about, like resolving his government and economic problems, managing his conquests, and formulating a plot to get the wanker back. He wanted revenge, and if America thought he’d celebrate many anniversaries to come, he was mistaken.
