well I think I am on the mend. The IUD is still causing me some cramping and spotting, but it getting less and less each day. I am really hoping it goes down to nothing. I really dislike medications, so am hoping some of the side effects of the pill, go down because the IUD has its medications targeted to the are it is needed not my whole body.

I dropped 1lb last week. Not so shabby. If I can keep it up I will be healthy in no time. The no gluten isn't going as well, but it has been less gluten. I have been torn in what I have been reading late. I have been doing a lot of reading on our food source, and how to eat a nice balanced meal. I find myself going further and further away from meat. We no longer drink cow's milk, it is mostly rice or almond milk, I do eat greek yogurt, but not a lot. You hear all over the place that a person needs protein as part of a healthy diet, and I agree with that, but I am questioning the source.

So yes, animal protein is a great source, and most of the standard dietary sources will say you need to eat animal protein to get enough protein. Or lots of beans, lentils, quinoa, etc, to get enough protein. But I have been reading things lately that say you can get all the amino acid you need (the building blocks of protein) from green sources. Spinach, kale, chard, etc. That they are complete chains of amino acids, which is where the cows and chickens get their protein from. Cows and chickens, and most of our meat comes from herbivorous. How do they build muscle, and get protein, if it doesn't come from a plant based source (assuming ethical farming practices).

Now granted, the sources I am reading say, that the protein in greens is difficult to release, and you must chew things extremely well, or throw them in a blender, or juicer. If they aren't well chewed, they are harder for your body to pull the protein from.

Don't get me wrong, I am not going vegetarian here. Absolutely nothing wrong with vegetarian, I have dabbled with it for shorter and longer periods of time, but at this point, I do enjoy meat, just enjoying finding other ways to eat healthy.

In other news, I am working on our plans to go to New York in June. I need to figure out how to use air miles to pay for either the flight, or the hotel. My mother in law has offered us all her airmiles to use for our trip. I give my notice at work in 4 weeks, wow, not that far away, and then 6 weeks after that I am done. Wow.
