Ohayo Gozaimas!

So it's not-quite 14 days till serena_inverse and myself head off for the Land of the Rising Sun.
Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessss!
I can't believe we're actually going!
I have been a Nipponophile for ever. Or at least since I started seeing Japanese art. We have Hiroshige and Hokusai on the walls. My user-name comes from a beautiful, beautiful 16th C woodcut of, well, "Moonlight-on-Waters".Though as liresius tells me, it's misspelled. (uh, Mizu-no-Tsuki) Colonel K collects Daisho and although most of the katana, wakizachi and tanto do not have live blades, they are still things of beauty (even though they are all reproductions, no way could we afford the real thing!)
There is a shop near the British Museum called "Nihon Token" which sells (or sold, don't know if it is still there,) gorgeous Japanese things from Ukiyo-e prints to tsuba to a glorious tortoiseshell plate which many moons ago lil_sheppard and inamac and I thought we could possibly buy if we pooled our pennies together. Sadly some basic math ruled that option out.
Whatever;in my usual meandering way, I guess I've had a love affair with traditional Japan for most of my adult life. Serena has, of course a room filled with books that read from the back (Anime/Manga) and an i Pod full of Jpop. So both Old and New get a look in, we're doing this...
Itinerary here!
Assuming, of course that we can get past Security at Heathrow...
Oh and I'm seeing the eye specialist on Monday.
